Robert J. Kauffman is currently the W. P. Carey Chair in
Information Systems at the W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State
University in Phoenix, Arizona.
His joint appointments there are with the Departments of Finance, and
Supply Chain Management, and also the new School of Computing
and Informatics. He is currently on
leave from the University
of Minnesota, where he
recently completed six years of service as department chair. Rob previously worked in international banking,
and served on the faculty of the business schools of New
York University
(1988-1994) and the University of Rochester (1992) before moving to Minnesota in 1994.
His graduate degrees are from Cornell
University (M.A., 1979) and Carnegie Mellon University
(Ph.D., 1988). His research focuses on senior management issues in IS
strategy and business value, IT infrastructure investments, technology
adoption, e-commerce and e-markets, and supply chain management. His
research has been published in Organization Science, Journal of
Management Information Systems, Communications of the ACM, Management
Science, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Decision
Sciences, Managerial Decisions
and Economics, and other IS, economics and computer science journals and
conferences.
